Accurately sense plunger arrival using 3-D technology
The new 3DSO from PCS is the first plunger arrival sensor of its kind. Driven by an embedded microprocessor, the 3DSO continually self-calibrates to filter out environmental noise. It uses advanced 3-D technology – like that used in military and navigation applications – to detect the plunger in multiple axes. This unique combination of features ensures accurate plunger arrival detection every time.
Mounted on the surface lubricator, the 3DSO detects the plunger’s arrival and activates the controller to the appropriate mode for gas sales or shut-in. The arrival sensor’s proprietary technology represents a significant advancement in plunger arrival sensing, making the 3DSO the most reliable arrival sensor on the market.
Accurate Arrival Detection
The 3DSO is the first arrival sensor with a microprocessor that continually calibrates to the well, providing the intelligence to eliminate false arrival reports. The 3-D technology detects the plunger using three coils in three axes (X, Y and Z) to penetrate through the lubricator and sense the plunger’s arrival.
Reliable and Durable
The unique design of the 3DSO ensures long term durability in the field. It features a rugged aluminum housing that won’t flex when installed and potted electrical components to protect against the elements.
Maximizes Production & Efficiency
By accurately sensing the plunger’s arrival every time, the 3DSO allows for optimal plunger lift operations. Because it continually self-calibrates, it offers virtually maintenance-free operation, eliminating operator intervention and production downtime.
