Production Control Services Inc., backed by Fidelity Equity Partners, is proud to announce the acquisition of Opti-Flow Gas Lift, a leading provider of gas lift products and nitrogen generation in the Texas and Louisiana oil and gas markets.
“By joining Opti-Flow’s and Production Control Services’ industry and production expertise, the newly expanded company will now offer our customers multiple artificial lift solutions to maximize production from the initial drill of a well to the end of the well’s life,” states Jeff Giacomino, President of Production Control Services and Bruce Victor, VP of Production Control Services.
The new Production Control Services product portfolio will include Gas Lift, Nitrogen Generation, Plunger Lift and Automation equipment and services throughout its existing districts.
Stuart Harlow, President of Opti-Flow Gas Lift states that “Opti-Flow has a substantial market share in the gas lift and nitrogen generation business in Texas and Louisiana and looks forward to introducing its products and services to the rest of the United States and Canada through Production Control Services’ network of 23 locations. For all current Opti-Flow and Production Control Services’ customers, the new company will be in all of the right places with the best equipment and services to keep their wells producing at their most efficient levels.

Problem: In the early stages of a well's life, liquid loading is usually not a problem. When rates are high, the liquids are simply carried out of the tubing with the high velocity gas. Eventually, the daily rate and velocity gradually decrease until the critical flow rate is reached. Below the critical flow rate, heavier liquids do not make it to the surface and start to fall back to the bottom exerting back pressure on the formation, loading up the well.
Solution: Plunger lift systems are low cost, effective methods of unloading gas wells and high gas/liquid ratio oil wells without interrupting production.
In operation, a plunger travels to the bottom of the well where the fluid is picked up by the plunger, acting as a swab, and is brought to the surfaced removing all liquids in the tubing. It also keeps the tubing free of paraffin, salt or scale build-up. Fluid removal prevents loading and keeps the well from dying. With continual removal of all produced liquids, there is less fluid weight on the formation, causing great productivity of the well. This system uses the well's own energy requiring no additional power expense.
At PCS we understand there are several forms of artificial lift and each have their own benefits. Our first, and primary, goal is to help you identify if your field of wells are even candidates for a well optimization system. Why? Because in the end it’s about well optimization and increasing production to benefit your bottom line.
Some common applications for a PCS plunger lift systems are: Gas well liquid loading Oil production with associated gas Help control salt, scale and paraffin Intermittent gas lift
Do you think you have a well that would benefit from a PCS plunger system? Find a Representative and let our Well Optimization Specialists help you find the right system to increase your production.
